Tony Patrick Edwards

Tony Patrick Edwards (62), of Prineville, Oregon, passed away on March 1, 2024, surrounded by friends and family after a tough battle with cancer.

Tony, fondly known as T-Bone, was born to Donald and Jean (Houston) Edwards, on March 17,1961, in Prineville, Oregon. As a child, Tony enjoyed trapping and working with his father. He was a proud member of the FFA and simply loved anything that included being outdoors. He was an avid athlete, and after graduating he continued playing in the local men's softball league for several years into adulthood. Early on, Tony worked for his father Don, doing construction prior to starting his career as a heavy equipment operator at the Crook County Road Department. He was there for 35 years. Tony was married in September of 1988 to Helen Bernard and they were married for nearly two decades. They welcomed two daughters, Valli and Katelyn. Tony loved
being involved with his daughter's sports and taking them on family excursions. Whether it was wood cutting, staying at the family cabin, or crabbing at the coast, he never
missed an opportunity to create treasured memories. Tony was a loving and supportive father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.

Tony’s greatest pleasures in life were spending time with his family and friends, hunting, trapping, and fishing in the mountains. He was a true socialite in town, using humor that
came so naturally to him. He had an amazing ability to not simply make acquaintances, but instead build genuine connections and share laughter with all those around him. When Tony couldn’t be found surrounded by loved ones, it was well known that he was either enjoying a simple drive down an old back road or exploring far beyond the “beaten path” in hopes of his next great adventure. The woods were his church, and God was a good friend.

Tony is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Valli and Jordan Ridenour of Prineville, Katelyn and Jake Zeigler of Prineville. Granddaughters, Piper Ridenour, Tatum Ridenour, Odessa Zeigler, Kennedy Zeigler, Sadie Zeigler. His mother, Jean Edwards of Prineville. His sisters and their husbands, Tia and John Ontko of Prineville, Kim and Jim Waetjen of Prineville, numerous nieces and nephew. His longtime partner, Barbara Allen and his bonus daughter Ashley Kime and her children.

Tony is preceded in death by his father, Donald Edwards of Prineville.

Tony’s family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The Celebration will be at Prineville Country Club.
